Description
Bangladesh’s Third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0), submitted to the UNFCCC in 2025, outlines the country’s climate action roadmap through 2035, committing to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 6.4% unconditionally and 13.9% with international support below business-as-usual levels. Building on earlier NDCs, it sets an economy-wide strategy across energy, transport, industry, agriculture, forestry, and waste, emphasizing renewable energy expansion, energy efficiency, low-carbon transport, climate-smart agriculture, and waste-to-energy initiatives. The NDC also prioritizes adaptation, loss and damage, gender equality, youth inclusion, and a just transition for vulnerable communities. With an estimated cost of USD 116 billion, it highlights the need for strong international cooperation in finance, technology, and capacity building to achieve a climate-resilient and low-carbon Bangladesh.
