Description
The Manipur Directorate of Environment and Climate Change is spearheading a comprehensive initiative to manage and restore the state’s vital natural springs. To ensure long-term water security, the government has funded the training and employment of local community members to monitor water flow across multiple villages. Significant administrative efforts have also resulted in the formal mapping of nearly five hundred springs and the publication of a dedicated informational book.
