This latest edition of IRENA's Renewable Capacity Statistics underscores the ongoing advancements in the global energy transition, showcasing the substantial growth of renewables in newly installed power generation capacity in 2023. As of the end of 2023, renewables constituted 43% of the global installed power capacity. However, as we approach a future where renewable energy comprises half of the total capacity, numerous energy planning questions remain unanswered.
