Agroecology Roadmap for Sikkim

An Agroecology Roadmap for Sikkim highlights a forward-looking vision for strengthening Sikkim's pioneering organic farming initiative through an agroecological approach. Drawing on recommendations from a policy roundtable convened by ICIMOD and the GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (GBP-NIHE), the policy brief outlines practical actions to enhance food and nutrition security, climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and institutional coordination. It presents a roadmap for integrating science, policy, and practice to support inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agrifood systems in Sikkim and across the Indian Himalayan Region.
