Review of climate action and environmental policies of the Hindu Kush Himalayan region - Summary for policymakers
Description
The HKH is a major source of food, energy, water, and a hub of cultural and biological diversity. However, the region is also highly vulnerable to climate and environment risks. We are witnessing rapid climate change, biodiversity loss, increased pollution, and disaster risks. It is time to take urgent actions to minimise impending risks at the local and transboundary levels.. Inadequate investment and weak institutional and technical capacity hinder effective implementation of climate action and environmental policies across the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH) countries.
