Meeting agricultural change in the Lao PDR

The article focuses on improving living conditions of the farmers by promoting changes in local agriculture. The Upland Agriculture Development Centre (UADC), a local governmental institute, works to improve agriculture in four districts of the country. The institute aims to increase agricultural output in financial terms, without affecting the natural environment by emphasising on irrigation as a means to reduce slash-and-burn agriculture.
