Creators
Description
Municipal town or urban locality, according to the 1991 population census of Nepal, is defined as a town that contains over 9,000 inhabitants. By defining it as an incorporated town, it acquires a status of an independent administrative unit, and manages all its functions and development activities on its own through raising revenues from various sources, besides central government grant. It is also a market centre, performing three functions simultaneously as a local exchange, market for internal trade and a central focal point for business.
