Human tide: The real migration crisis

Creators

Description

As the effects of climate change join and exacerbate the conflicts, natural disasters and development projects that drive displacement, Christian Aid fear that an emerging migration crisis will spiral out of control. Unless urgent action is taken, it threatens to dwarf even that faced by the war ravaged world all those decades ago. Christian Aid predicts that, on current trends, a further 1 billion people will be forced from their homes between now and 2050. Christian Aid believes forced migration is the most urgent threat facing poor people in developing countries.

The report considers migration caused by the impact of climate change; examines the migration caused by conflict in Colombia and Burma and considers climate change and heat as factors for migration in Mali.
