Creators
Description
This paper synthesizes the published palaeontological data from the Eastern Himalayas to record the present situation in this poorly covered area of geology. The Eastern Himalayas comprises of the Himalayan segment between the eastern border of Nepal and the western border of Myanmar, and includes Dajeeling-Sikkim, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh. Each portion has been dealt with separately for the convenience of discussion. Further, the biota, which includes fauna, micro-fauna, palyno-flora, etc. is given suitably different litho-units. As far as possible, care has been taken to incorporate all the important available published information. It is felt that the concise account of the fauna and flora mentioned in the text will be useful to the workers in knowing the current status of the various litho-units concerning their fossil contents.
