Tourism and the world of culture and heritage

Culture and heritage constitute vital resources for tourism development, and tourism in turn makes an important contribution to cultural development. This paper considers the key trends in the cultural and heritage tourism markets, including the development of demand, the elements of culture and heritage included in the tourism product, the role of the cultural producers and the effects of globalization and localization. Future directions for the development of cultural and heritage tourism are also considered.
