Beginning to read Nepali: Mero Nepali Kitaba as a textbook
Creators
Description
mero nepali kitaba is a textbook for grade 1 written by Divaka Dhungel and published by the Primary Curriculum and Textbook Development Unit in 2049. It was prepared after three years of preparation and extensive consultation with hundreds of teachers, parents, headmasters, educationalists, resource persons, linguists, and Nepali experts. The objective of the book is to teach linguistic skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing to grade 1 learners of Nepali. Closer scrutiny reveals that the great majority of lessons are devoted to teaching writing and reading however, and only a few to listening and speaking. The review highlights a few of the most salient imperfections seen in this textbook.
