Dilli Raman Regmi (b. 1913) has been in the field of Nepalese history for some 40 years. His corpus of published works is impressive. As he was almost alone in publishing in English, he is the only one familiar to the scholarly world outside Nepal. His work as well as reputation is imposing, covering all three fields of Nepalese historiography - ancient, medieval and modern. In the last 30 years, Regmi's work on ancient Nepal in particular has undergone three revisions.
