The assessment of seasonal snow in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region reveals insights into snow persistence trends over the past twenty-two years. Snow persistence, indicating the duration snow remains on the ground, varies significantly during the accumulation season (November–April) based on data from 2003 to 2024. This report aims to inform water resource management strategies by highlighting fluctuations in snow cover and to provide essential guidance on implementing adaptation measures. These measures are crucial for mitigating the anticipated impacts of accelerated snowmelt on downstream communities.
