Proceedings of the training on spatial and temporal climate change analysis using CORDEX regional climate models over South Asia
Creators
Description
Regional climate models are gaining increasing prominence in climate change science and literature. Planning for and adapting to the impacts of climate change needs a robust understanding of regional climate change projections for the decades ahead. To address the need for such finely grained regional projections that may inform adaptation planning and policy in South Asia and the Hindu Kush Himalaya, we partnered with the United Kingdom’s Met Office, the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), and the Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX) office to organize a five-day training event on spatial and temporal climate change analysis using CORDEX regional climate models for South Asia. Following the successful completion of this training in June 2021, we plan to organize further training workshops in 2022 to build institutional capacities regarding climate projections in the region.
