China Eco-Migration: A Summary of Related Literatures

Creators

Description

Annotation:::: The paper focuses on the relations between population, resources and environment, and explores ways to protect the eco-environment while alleviating poverty among local mountain people. According to the authors, some mountain people live in the water source districts and zones of frequent occurrence of ecological disasters, and are not in a position to get out of poverty through self-reliance. They cut trees and seek other natural resources for a living, and as a result, their environment has deteriorated. After using the method of documental study of online and written materials related to mountain migration, the author finds that eco-migration has been identified as the most effective way to protect the eco-environment while lifting local mountain people out of poverty. Eco-migration is one of the issues that is highlighted in the recent research on migration and the eco-environment. While domestic research remains at an initial stage, it has managed to achieve results. There are still some problems that affect eco-migration work in the present context, and the discussions and analyses related of these factors can contribute to subsequent in-depth research on eco-migration.
