Annotation:::: The paper examines incentive factors and resettlement modes in mountain migration aimed at achieving comprehensive development of the mountain area. Using a method of demographic analysis and documental study, the paper assesses the factors that affect mountain migration in Yunnan and suggest some relatively effective modes of migration.According to the findings, some incentive factors that affect mountain migration include resource availability, the construction of a project, and efforts to protect the environment. The relatively effective modes of migration include migration within the area and area-to-area migration. Lastly, eco-migration and project-related migration are the most frequently adopted methods of mountain migration in Yunnan province
