How erosion contributes to the dispersal of weed seeds

Typical cultivated uplands of Northern Laos include the following features: a succession of short fallow periods that lead to  excessive weed growth; each plant produces a huge quantity of seeds; transport of ripe seeds involves an external agent (wind, water, animals) and a high level of natural processes of water runoff and erosion.

The presentation describes studies made on the watershed, soil and seedbanks, looking at ways to conserve alongside conventional farming techniques.
