The “Second policy roundtable on building climate resilience in Gilgit-Baltistan” explored the possibilities of integrating lessons learnt from interventions piloted by ICIMOD and its partners in the region into relevant policies. Climate-smart agricultural water management technologies were discussed, and ICIMOD officially handed over ownership of the area’s community based flood early warning systems to the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority. There event also saw ICIMOD and the Karakoram International University sign an agreement to work collaboratively on cryosphere studies.
