Tourism initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh are geared towards conserving its rich history, culture, and natural heritage. The state government of Arunachal Pradesh recognizes homestays to be ideal for rural tourism as well as the promotion of community-based tourism. The present set of guidelines has been prepared to improve access to homestay registration so that villagers in areas with high tourism potential, even in the remotest parts of the state, can benefit. The guidelines also seek to ensure credible, consistent, and uniform quality of services and facilities for the visitors, and link tourism with the conservation of the state’s rich biological diversity.
