The role of fear in the unification of Nepal

  • Stiller, L. F.
  • Summary
Did Bristish expansion in India constitute a threat to survival and security of the emergent Gorkha state? If such a threat existed, was Gorkhali reaction one of fear, precaution or heightened activity towards internal unity and external security? The author seeks to address these questions, taking into account the problem of establishing what the Nepali attitude was towards the British.
