Summary

Till 1950 no substantial geological studies could be made in the kingdom of Nepal. The first geological study of Nepal Siwaliks was made by Auden (1935) and then Lombart (1952) and in 1959, Toni Hagen minutely studied the cross-sections of the Siwaliks and noted three-fold stratigraphic division in its formation. This paper analyses the studies and the findings of geological studies in Nepal.
