Annotation:::: The paper provides an ethnological analysis of mountain migration in Tuanjie township, Xishan district, Kunming city, Yunnan province, and looks at how to promote local development of economic growth in a mountain community made up of ethnic minorities. Using the method of empirical study, it finds that Tuanjie township is a mountain area where various nationalities live in compact communities. The area charts a path of non-agricultural development for ethnic minorities, which draws on communal supporting systems, ethnic culture, industry, and service. This non-agricultural model can provide other ethnic areas of western China with a mode of development that balances the human-nature relationship and is the same as urban areas in production value but different in production type.
