This booklet showcases selected images of mountain biodiversity and related issues from the 2010 ICIMOD Photo Contest on Mountain Biodiversity. The images were selected to highlight the importance of biodiversity in the Hindu Kush-Himalayan region, and the need for conservation and sustainable management at all levels. It was produced as a contribution to the International Year of Biological Diversity, and especially to remind participants at the CBD COP 10 being held in Nagoya, Japan,in October 2010 of what is at stake - not just biodiversity but the entire way of life of the people who depend on it.
