Between Ganadeva (Samvat 479-487) and sivadeva I (Samvat 512-535) there is no king named Maanadeva. Although the gap is about 25 years, there is no trace of "Maanadeva II) in Mangal Bazaar, Patan's inscription of Bhaaravi, dated Samvat 492, nor in Desabhattaarikaa's sankhamula inscription dated Samvat 495. Had there been an outstanding king, able to found an epoch era with a name, Maanadeva, this era should have been used, by sivadeva I, in his Visnupaadkaa Phedi inscription of Samvat 512. At least, Jayadeva II's Pasupati inscription dated Samvat 157 should have mentioned him if there were an illustrious king able to found an epoch era which Jayadeva II himself had used.
