Natural resource management with special reference to solar water pumping system in Siraha District

This article is based upon research conducted for Alternative Energy Promotion Center of HMG in 2000. It assesses and analyses the status of solar water pumping systems (SWPS) installed for drinking, domestic and irrigation purposes in Todke, Bhulke and Phulbariya villages of Siraha district. The findings of the study, therefore, will be useful for planners, administrators, concerned organised village people, researchers and students. The overall objective of the article is to explain the present status of the solar PV water pumping system in Siraha district; and to provide suggestions on how solar SWPS can be made more popular as well as affordable for village people.
