In the last two decades, child labour has been increasing in Nepal. As the tendency of children working in and outside the home increases, concerns have been raised in various areas, with different approaches. A number of social and development organisations, policy makers, as well as academics have been attracted to the issue. Some are concerned with advocacy against violation of children's rights, some with rescuing and rehabilitating children from the streets and exploitative forms, some are promoting awareness of parents to send their children to school instead. Dspite this, the incidence of child labour is increasing, especially in urban areas.
